Dr. ROBIN DORMAN, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist
I believe that knowing when to reach out for help is a strength, not a weakness. Everyone has their limits, even the strongest people.
You remember a time when worry and fear weren’t the norm, when you felt more in control of your thoughts. But this time feels out of reach. Perhaps you’ve had a medical illness that has changed your life physically, emotionally, or both. Would you like to be able to feel more comfortable with uncertainty and quiet your worried mind? Have you ever been given the advice to “just stop worrying?” If only you could…
You can, and you’ve come to the right place.
I help adults just like you: adults who lead full, busy lives who have the desire to feel more control, more calm, and less worry but just need the support to get there.
I help my clients understand the signals their bodies are giving them through physical symptoms, worry, or decreased motivation. I teach clients the tools they need to feel more in control of their worry, prioritize their own healthy behaviors, and engage in life without fear and anxiety leading the way. I can help you take care of yourself without being “selfish.”
With more than 20 years of experience working with people with anxiety and medical challenges, I have developed a personalized approach that combines evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with real world solutions for YOUR life. I prefer to help you use your existing strengths to better manage your challenges. I do not look for ways to “think positively,” but to find realistic and balanced outlooks that honor the complexity of your life. I teach you the tools and equip you with the strategies you need to feel better now and manage future challenges.
I take the time to get to know you and not only your symptoms. We then work together to understand your current strengths and how they can work for you and not against you. We will collaborate to set goals that are most important to you and finally, I will teach you some tangible ways to work towards them.
I am dedicated to helping adults manage their worry, stress, and anxiety to feel more in control of themselves and more balanced in their lives.
My training in CBT, health psychology, medical psychology, women’s health, and oncology means that I have the expertise you need to understand the interaction of physical and mental health, the challenges that anxiety and illness bring to your life, and the alienation of feeling dismissed by loved ones or medical providers because you “have anxiety.” I want you to work with someone who understands the nuances of when your anxiety helps you and when it works against you. I am someone who gets it when the worry seems limitless and unstoppable.
I want to help you feel better.
