During your cancer journey, therapy can help you navigate the emotional ups and downs, manage stress, and enhance your overall well-being. Cancer is a complex journey that delivers a host of emotions for anyone facing it. Therapy can provide valuable tools for managing these emotions, improving communication, and maintaining a positive mindset.

  • With over 25 years of experience and specialty training in working with people diagnosed with cancer and their families we have the knowledge and skills to best understand your experience. Having worked alongside oncology professionals as part of the cancer team in hospitals, surgical and outpatient clinics we understand your treatment journey from diagnosis to life after treatment.

  • While cancer may be the most pressing matter that brings you into therapy, we know you are not solely your medical condition. In therapy we address your emotions, thoughts, and overall well-being. We will help you explore any aspects of your life, working with you to address challenges, set goals, and develop strategies to improve your life in all areas. .

  • Absolutely! Involving loved ones in your therapy can be very beneficial. We can facilitate family or couples sessions to improve communication, address relationship challenges, and help your loved ones better understand your needs. Engaging your partner or family can create a stronger support network as you navigate the cancer journey together.

  • The length of anyone’s therapy is highly individual and is based on the goals you have for treatment. Many of our clients start therapy to address their immediate cancer experience, but will continue to address other issues that may have existed prior to cancer or are a result of their cancer experience. We are here to make your life better than before, in whatever way you need.

  • Therapy sessions typically last around 45-60 minutes. You'll have an open and confidential conversation with your therapist about your feelings, concerns, and experiences. We’'ll actively listen, provide guidance, and offer coping strategies tailored to your needs. Over time, you'll build a trusting relationship that facilitates your emotional growth and healing.
